The four (4) day Workshop on Costume Design and Production has successfully come to an end. This programme was an initiative of the Tobago Carnival Bandleaders Association (TCBA) whom, has been focusing on the sustainable transformation of Mas as an Industry and has been working closely with its Trinidad affiliate, the National Carnival Development Foundation (NCDF) to achieve this objective.

This ‘hands on’ workshop was attended by twenty-four (24) beneficiaries, all of whom are from Tobago, and were taught on how to design and build six (6) high end costumes from start to finish. The Facilitator of the Workshop was Mr. Michael ‘Big Mike’ Antoine of LEGACY fame and the largest exporter of Trinidad and Tobago Mas globally.

The completion of this workshop was marked with a closing ceremony function, to distribute certificates to the twenty-four (24) beneficiaries, and their final product of costumes were modeled/displayed at a Cocktail Reception, held on Sunday 05th July, 2015 from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm at the Bar Code Lounge, the Esplanade, in Scarborough, Tobago.

Addressing the function were Jemma Bedlow - Chairman of Tobago Carnival Bandleaders Association (TCBA), Mahindra Satram-Maharaj - Chairman of National Carnival Development Foundation (NCDF), Lorraine Pouchet - Chairman of National Carnival Commission (NCC), Dr. Lincoln Douglas - the Honourable Minister of Arts & Multiculturalism, Winston Gordon - Chairman of Tobago Carnival Committee and Mike Antoine – Programme Facilitator.
