December, 2014

The Mas Transformation Secretariat together with the National Carnival Development Foundation (NCDF) has successfully hosted a one (1) day How to Acquire Sponsorship Training at the Mas Transformation Secretariat training room in St. Augustine. On Saturday October 24th 2015, from 8am to 4pm, Mas Practitioners received tailor-made training geared towards sharpening their knowledge of Sponsorship.

The Workshop was highly over-subscribed and resulted in space allocation for fifty (50) participants but interest from over 100 persons. The Sponsorship Training was attended by a cross section of Mas Practitioners including Mas bands in Small, Medium and Large categories, as well as J’ouvert bands, Kiddie bands and wire benders.

Mrs. Sandra Basheer acted as Facilitator. Mrs. Basheer specializes in Event Management, Protocol and Lectures at both Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and the Trinidad & Tobago Hospitality &Tourism Institute.

The workshop focused on the fundamental aspects such as the planning, benefits, policy and strategies of acquiring Sponsorship.  Similarly, the event explored industry best practices with interaction between facilitators and participants alike.

The session concluded with beneficiaries receiving a Sponsorship Template to utilise as needed in the development and expansion of their Mas Businesses. NCDF is pleased to deliver this exciting initiative for the benefit of its members, and sincerely thanks the Ministry of Planning and Development and the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts for their supportive roles in making this venture a success.
